Scottish Parliament Celebrates 20th Birthday Hyslop Calls out for Young People Turning 20 on July 1st  As the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh celebrates its 20th year, Local Constituency MSP for Linlithgow, Fiona Hyslop, who is one of only 19 MSPs first elected in 1999, is calling on all young people in her constituency who turn 20 on July 1st 2019 to join the celebration. Hyslop Visits Emergency Department at St John’s Ahead of Expansion Fiona Hyslop, Local Linlithgow Constituency MSP has visited St John’s Hospital Emergency Department to hear more about their planned expansion and see round the premises. Hyslop Calls on all MSPs to Support the Budget with increase in Funding for Colleges Constituency MSP, Fiona Hyslop has challenged political opponents to back the Scottish Government’s draft budget that plans to increase spending on colleges by £18.3 million over the coming year. The proposal, set out in the Scottish Government’s draft budget plans for 2019/20, will take investment in Scotland’s colleges to over £606 million. MSPs will vote on the plans next month. Hyslop Welcomes new Support Scheme for EU Citizens Local Linlithgow MSP has welcomed the announcement that Europeans living in Scotland affected by immigration changes due to Brexit will be able to get support from a new GBP800,000 scheme. Changing rules coming into force in March next year will mean EU citizens and their family members will be required to apply to secure their rights through an online system. Consequently the Scottish Government is introducing a new service, through the Citizens Advice Bureau, to help EU nationals with their immigration status following the UK's expected withdrawal from the European Union.
