Hyslop Marks 50 years of Cyrenians Support
Local Constituency MSP Fiona Hyslop has visited the Cyrenians Bathgate Branch to mark 50 years of housing services and family support by the voluntary organisation across Scotland.
Fiona said;
“I was delighted to visit Cyrenians in Bathgate to mark their 50th anniversary. Cyrenians have been operating from Bathgate for 16 years and who it was great to meet the staff and volunteers who devote an enormous amount of time helping improve the lives of others
“I heard about their Older People, Active Lives (OPAL) service which supports older people who need that extra bit of personal support to re-engage with their local community perhaps after bereavement or illness. I would encourage any constituents who know of anyone who would benefit from that support to contact the Cyrenians in Bathgate on 01506 815 815.
“Cyrenians across the country has accomplished much in the last 5 decades, helping those with housing needs and tackling homelessness. In Bathgate they also operate recovery support in the community at the Pre Sync 27 centre which I also visited. Cyrenians also offer advice and assistance to families and communities and I hope this anniversary milestone allows people in West Lothian to reflect on their remarkable journey towards helping create a more equal and inclusive society.”
