Commenting on the incident this morning at St Kentigern’s Academy in Blackburn, Fiona Hyslop MSP said;
“I am very concerned to hear about the incident at St Kentigern’s Academy, my thoughts are with the student and family affected and I will be seeking a meeting with West Lothian Council, the school and police.
“I know parents and children at St Kentigern’s will be very concerned, that is why it is vital that there is a full investigation and lessons learned.
“The Scottish Government ‘no knives better lives’ campaign has been embraced by West Lothian Council but it’s vital that the engagement and education of young people on the risks of carrying knives continues.”
